Japanese tutoring classes are available to all children currently attending elementary school and above,  so they can continue studying afterschool.
Lessons are given in to a small group of students who have a similar level of learning twice a week, at 1.5 hours each.
Weekday lessons start at 4pm and weekend private lessons can be  scheduled by appointment, and in addition, Afterschool students have an option to participate the annual Japanese Speech Contest sponsored by the Consulate General of Japan.
